Fall Readathon 2013 :: Introductions
I’ve already posted my 24 Hour Readathon selections, so let’s just begin, shall we? This is meant to emphasize the reading, now isn’t it? 😉
- What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I’m currently without a home base, so I’ve got the special treat of reading in a new location from my past readathons. Still in North Texas, east of Fort Worth now, I’m at a retreat center with plenty of woods and lakeside locations to offer scenery change. I’m hoping I feel well enough to get outside for a bit and take advantage!
- Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I’ve only got a few books* on tap this time – I rarely read more than one or two titles in a readathon – but I’m most excited about The Paris Wife by Paula McClain. However, I feel like I should first read A Moveable Feast by Hemingway since it is the non-fiction story of the same time period and setting (and features the same woman, his first wife). If I don’t start with Hemingway I may never get back to reading him, so I’m going to save The Paris Wife for later in the day when I’m weary of material. We’ll see how that goes.
- Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Oh! Snacks! I knew I forgot to do something! Refrigerator clean-out…
- Tell us a little something about yourself!
I use a tagline that sums it up best: a single gal exploring life, faith, and love of pop culture. Pretty much says it all!
- If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?
Today I plan to chronicle my day on Twitter instead of multiple blog posts. I’m hoping it will provide less distraction from the reading and I might get in more actual time with books!
