2009 Scripture Memory (9 of 24) : Colossians 1:15-16

My new scripture memory passage was suggested by Kay Warren, author of Dangerous Surrender, in a message she gave to my church this past Sunday. In speaking of our purpose in Christ, our responsibility to the hurting and impoverished and lost people in this shared world of ours, she stated that we are commissioned to make the invisible God visible. How much more clear can it be?

We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. — Colossians 1:15-16 (The Message)
