God shows us our weaknesses to move us past a place of prideful comfort and into spiritual growth. Who is like our God, who even offers us a big ole serving of hope with our humble pie?

Such words as this come only from the LORD my God. I have expressed despair lately. I have expressed defeat and doubt and anxiety and worry. And this is not a life of Promise. This is not a life of Hope. It is certainly not a life of Victory. Thank you, Father, for reminding me to release yesterday and last year and the last decades of my life so that I can begin again. So I can be laid bare and find renewal and find joy. So that I can live as Your servant and expand Your Kingdom. May it be a fresh reminder every day. Through the power of Jesus.
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
