this week I love: Present Time!

At Christmas I’m like a little kid again. I love everything about the season, and I find great joy in locating that one perfect gift for each person on my list. My creative mind goes into overdrive this time of year! And because my love language is gifts, I am equally pleased if I receive something, too. Personal gifts from friends and family are the best, of course, but unexpected surprises are just as good. Today, I received just that! Sometimes it truly pays to sign up for a sweepstakes.

Joy to the world, Christmastime is here!

This week has been filled with the true ushering in of my favorite season. I promise to return next week to play catch-up with December Daily, reverb10, and all manner of Christmas joy, but for now, here are my favorite photos from Christmas Journey 2010. Tonight’s the final opportunity to journey with us through the life of Christ, so if you’re in the North Texas area, come on out and join me in worship of Emmanuel. God is truly with us!

Jesus and child
The highlight of the first Journey night was watching children cross the room to talk with “Jesus.” No inhibitions and hearts wide open. That’s the way I want to come to Jesus, too!

manger
I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior — yes, the Messiah, the Lord — has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger. Luke 2: 10-12 (NLT)

Day Ten of the Advent

Today I had to remind myself that there was still a way to tell this story despite not remembering to take photos during the actual time frame it took place. Though D is not pictured, all of the elements of our time together are presented here, making the story just as visual despite his absence. Such a great reminder to go with the flow!
