Since first seeing "Star Wars" in 1977 as an eight-year-old on the front row of the theater I have been supremely fascinated by pop culture. My mind spins with movie trivia, celebrity gossip, soundtracks, dialogue, and all manner of information only useful for dinner conversation. At some point I have to put these tidbits out into the world, if only to make room for more stuff inside my brain. This blog is my release. Lucky you.

D is an amazing boy with the sharpest intellect, a joyful spirit and plenty of mischief in his eyes, but he is also challenged with Asperger Syndrome, a high-functioning neurological disorder within the autism spectrum. One in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. It is four times more likely to strike boys than girls. There is no known cure for autism. A new child is diagnosed with autism every 20 minutes. Be informed. Learn how to help.
